There was a surprise result when eighteenth ranked DutchBAL Weert (2-16) smashed at home higher ranked Belgian Belfius Mons-Hainaut (5-12) 86-64 on Saturday. BAL Weert outrebounded Union Mons 42-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Senegalese-French forward Kara Sene (199-2006) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Roel Van Overbeek (189-2000) chipped in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Four BAL Weert players scored in double figures. Slovenian guard Maks Klanjscek (196-1999, college: Oklahoma) responded with 14 points and Australian-South Sudanese Lual Diing (205-1998) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BAL Weert moved-up to seventeenth place. Union Mons lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Zwolle.
